Cosmos (Cosmea) - Seashells Red

Striking and unusual fluted petals adorn this easy to grow annual which forms lush plants with lovely ferny foilage. Pot grown plants can fill gaps in the herbaceous border left by early perennials. A half hardy annual.

Native to tropical America, particularly Mexico where it is called Mexican Aster. It was first described by spanish botanist Antonio Jose Cavanilles. The name comes from the Greek 'kosmos' meaning ornament.
