Strelitzia - Bird of Paradise flower

Patience may be needed, but will be amply rewarded by the exotic blooms. A real talking point for warm conservatories or the greenhouse and an unusual cut flower. An evergreen indoor perennial.
Commonly known as Bird of Paradise and named by Sir Joseph Banks, for Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Queen of George 3 of England. Indigenous to South Africa it grows wild in the Eastern Cape.
