Basil sprouts are used in many Mediterranean dishes, and also widely used for Indonesian and Thai cuisine. They go extremely well with pasta, noodles and salads. Basil germinates slower than the other Baza Mini-Vegetables and Herbs.
The crop can be consumed after around 14 days, at which time the shoots will be 3-5cm high. Both the leaves and the stems are delicious. To speed up the germination process, cover the dish with cling film after sowing the seeds and keep the dish covered for three days. Keep the dish out of direct sunlight, and keep the soil slightly damp.
